The Observatory consist of:

• an advanced level MEADE LX200 GPS (16") telescope that allows detailed observation of the different features deep into the sky
  
  
• An observation telescope for astrophotography, and which, with a special filter, allows observation of the Sun.
  
  
• 4 MEADE LX200 GPS (10") telescopes that are easy to carry and can be used by anyone to observe the sky in depth
  
  
• 5 sets of Miyauchi astronomy binoculars for observing the night sky, and William Optics binoculars with individual focusing.

The observatory is mainly used by the centre’s customers for teaching.

Usage is also granted to universities, to professionals, institutions and associations in the sphere of education, and to professional astronomers’ organisations, who wish to use the observatory for academic sessions and observations.

The features, the philosophy and the educational work of the Les Planes de Son centre itself are an ideal reinforcement for these academic sessions. In the course of the year, there will be special astronomy-related activities.
